OUR VISION
Del Norte Community Schools create strong relationships between families and partners to empower students with safe, inclusive and culturally rich experiences.

BESS MAXWELL STUDENT LEADERSHIP TEAM
To be a part of the Student Leadership Team, students must prepare an application, have parental permission and two references from their teachers. Students are tasked with helping other students, setting up for School Assemblies, Family Engagement Nights, Dances, School Kindness Projects and other necessary tasks that require responsible and trustworthy students.

The students are mentored by School Counselor, Susan Andrews; School Counselor, Justin Robinson and School Wellness Coach Elijah Brunson.

Leadership Students were recently asked what being in Leadership meant to them, what advice they have for their peers, and what is leadership in action. Here are some of their responses.

“Leadership to me means someone who is kind, doesn’t get in fights and someone who will help out people when they need it.”

“What leadership means to me is it’s really fun and, if like a kid feels sad, you can help them.”

“I participate in peace control, the morning announcements and help with assemblies.”

“Leadership means having lots of fun and helping students makes you a good leader.”

“I think leadership helps you prepare for the future well. You can get along with people better. It helps you with your manners.”
